Moving on. Homes Part IV

Next up is the sorority house. Yes, that's right, I was in a sorority. I lived with my saving grace, Germaine Ho. A lovely sister whose wedding I recently attended. There are some interesting memories from that year living among the XO sisters.

  • The chef Michael was a favorite person of that house. Him and his nice assistant would always make me a vegetarian version of everything delicious. They made giant cookies. His macaroni & cheese was breaded and amazing. His morning biscuits...thin crust pizza...oh I miss him.
  • Endless coffee, hot chocolate and other miscellaneous distractions from studying.
  • The house across the street with Zarah and Katie B. (and rats in the floorboards).
  • House Mom who didn't kick me out after I blacked out one morning from eating too many brownies the night before. Those brownies were REALLY strong. *Thanks Jaimie for catching me before my head hit the cinder block.
  • Sneaking Martin and Praveen into my room (no boys allowed) by telling the house mom we were doing a film project and I needed to shoot my room with this old (non-functional) super 8 camera.
  • Playing the grand piano downstairs with Germaine and finding out she was a child prodigy. She helped me figure out how to play "I've got you babe".
  • Riding my bike and getting weird looks from everyone.
  • Did I mention breakfast, lunch and dinner was served every day and was outstanding?

Ok I think that's about all I need to say about that year. At the end of it I resigned from my sisterhood.
