This is the old Cine Latino building located on Reforma Avenue in the heart of the thriving Zona Rosa. I wonder how people can let architecture and real estate like this go unused. If I had the funds I would turn this into the likeness of the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX, where popular and classic movies are shown and delicious food and beverages are consumed. Mexico City has VIP theaters that serve food/drinks, but the fun factor is squashed by the need to be classy. This is often the case here.
I threw a 4th of July Party. I met Angel. We started a group called Filmex to meet once a week to watch a movie on the big screen with beer and chips. This month the movies are from Mexico. Next month I'm thinking Germany. I love social movie watching because (a) I love watching movies, (b) I love seeing my friends. I hope more people come though, so far our max audience has been about 10.
